Bo'Weavil Recordings is proud to release on to vinyl for the first time England's James Blackshaw. An acoustic folk guitarist who takes his primary cues from the holy trinity of the near mythical- John Fahey, Robbie Basho and - along with recent adherents to the weird Americana / new folk sound, Jack Rose. Blackshaw's twelve-string guitar resonates to produce unbridled raga-like flurries, bursting with energy, yet harnessed with enough melodic definition to their fluid motions. On Sunshrine (side A) and Celeste (Side B) James does a brilliant job of bringing together his skill on the acoustic guitar with a talent for melding soundscapes and drones into coherent compositions. He uses his 12 string guitar and open tuning to create some wonderful passages of beautiful folk guitar.
James Blackshaw plays 12-String & 6-String Guitar, Sarod, Harmonium, Farfisa Organ, Glockenspiel, Bells & Bowed Cymbal
